Overview

Join us on September 7th 2023 as we celebrate unquestionably, the most iconic moment of the 21st Century and one of the rare moments in life, when the world witnesses the coronation of a King and Queen of England! With a global TV audience of almost one billion, the world mourned the sad loss of Queen Elizabeth II but came together on May 6th this year, to witness the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

In this exclusive tour of Buckingham Palace, go behind the scenes of this glorious day and relive the coronation in this once in a lifetime tour where we will see close up, the outfits worn by Their Majesties as they departed Westminster Abbey in the Gold State Coach and then appeared at Buckingham Palace balcony to greet the crowds. Get up close and almost in touching distance to the Robe of Estate worn by the King, which indeed was worn by his Grandfather King George VI for his coronation in 1937. In fact, in almost 100 years, the world has only witnessed 3 coronations of English Kings and Queens but this is the first time that Their Majesties have bestowed the honour of allowing the public into Buckingham Palace to see everything close up. Situated in the grand Ballroom, relive the pomp and ceremony of the coronation with the display featuring the awe-inspiring clothing from the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. See historic vestments worn by His Majesty at the moment of crowning including the Coronation Glove, Girdle (Sword Belt and Stole Royal). Along with the grand robe of estate, made from purple silk velvet and golden lace, worn by The King for his departure from the Abbey to Buckingham Palace to greet the crowds on the famous balcony.

You can also catch a glimpse of the Diamond Jubilee State Coach that will be on display in the Palace’s State Entrance or, combine your visit to the State Rooms with a trip to the Royal Mews where the Gold State Coach awaits. During your visit, you can also watch the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony, where the King’s Guard changes duty with the New Guard. This tradition has been taking place since the 17th century. In addition to the State Rooms, visitors can also explore the truly beautiful Buckingham Palace Gardens which brought great joy to Queen Elizabeth II and has played host for more than 200 years to the Royal Garden Parties. Covering 42 acres and feature stunning flora and fauna, at this final point of your tour, there will be a chance to purchase teas, coffees, and cakes in the Palace Gardens as you relax in the official garden of the Royal Family, used for entertaining and celebratory events for over 200 years.
