Bletchley Park
This stunning English Country House and estate is located in the heart of Buckinghamshire. Originally built in 1883 in a variety of architectural styles, Bletchley Park is most famous as the location of the Government Code and Cypher School.
Tasked with penetrating the communications and missives of the Axis Powers, Bletchley Park played host to legendary code breakers such as Alan Turing, Gordon Welchman and High Alexander. On your Visit to Bletchley park you will be taken on a guided tour of the grounds to learn, discuss and investigate the history of the work that took place at Bletchley Park. Work that remained secret for many years after the conclusion of World War Two.
You can also expect to learn and discover the electronic and computing history that goes hand in hand with the codebreaking that took place for many years at the estate. Widely considered to be the birthplace of Modern information technology, Bletchley park has been an unsung hero that has shaped how we live our lives today.
Explore exhibits such as the Art of Data to better understand how the WWII code breakers visualized the data they were examining on a daily basis. There will also be the chance to see the restored WWII interiors of the very same bunkers used by the code breakers to break the Nazi ENgima coding, helping bring the war to a close
